I spent the weekend in Great Falls. It was time to make the trek before the snow flies. It’s always nice to get out of town, but even nicer to get home. On the way home yesterday, I saw a few farmers seeding, a few folks drilling holes and quite a few trucks parked on side of road. I can only assume they were doing their pre-hunting season scouting – and I am guessing there might have been a few using their trusty bow and arrow too. Which is legal now.

Of course if all those folks just waited until tomorrow they don’t need a bow or 12 gauge – that’s when the new road kill state law takes effect. That’s right, see a 5 point buck, swerve over, clip it and claim it.

Guess you’ll have to be careful not to clip it too hard or you’ll be claiming the animal and making a claim to your insurance company.
