If you happen to spot Keith Urban on TV and 'American Idol' isn't on, it's probably Tennessee Department of Tourist Development's newest commercial promoting 'The Soundtrack of America.'

It's a quick snippet of Urban walking offstage and waving to fans at the Grand Ole Opry, and if you blink, you might miss it. However, the singer's appearance makes a big impact -- the country star is one of several musicians featured in the commercial, alongside Jack White and a black and white clip of the iconic, influential Johnny Cash.

The commercial shows the love of music infiltrated in Tennessee, with shots of Broadway, Bluebird Cafe, Beale Street and Sun Studio in Memphis, and Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. Friends gather on porches for singalongs, bob their heads to live music and dance the night away as country songwriter Rivers Rutherford does the voiceover. It's fitting, because he's written hits for country stars like Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, and Tim McGraw.

"The music, the foot-tapping, head-bobbing, soul-saving kind," says Rutherford in the clip. "Country, blues, rock and everything in between. Where it all started and never stopped. Heard on stages, porches and street corners. You can’t download it. Or stream it. You can only experience it. The soundtrack of America. Made in Tennessee."

Urban is definitely part of the soundtrack of America -- and even the world -- as a global superstar. He's currently judging on 'American Idol' and was recently nominated for four 2014 CMA Awards, the presentation of which will air Nov. 5, with Carrie Underwood and Paisley hosting.
