This morning, the Flakes got a press release from the City of Billings outlining the number of parks that will be closed on July 4th.  Of course, fireworks and huge crowds can pose potential risks, we've always wondered why the city will close down area attractions on Independence Day, just to open them up the next day.

Our State and National Parks will be open.  Public campgrounds will be open.  And people actually build fires when they're camping.  But here in Billings, you won't be allowed to enjoy the rims on our country's biggest holiday.

That's why Mark and Paul have come up with a new slogan,  "4th of July Fun...Not in Our Town".  Do you want to spend the 4th enjoying the best views our city has to offer?  Not in Our Town.  Would you like to take a picture overlooking the Magic City?  Not in Our Town.

To promote our new civic slogan, the Flakes are encouraging the city to post signs all along the Rims.  The signs will feature the image of a tourist holding a camera, with an "X" crossing it out and the words "Not in Our Town".
