While you are pre-gaming this weekend, try some of these spooky concoctions.

DARK & STORMY from Cosmopolitan:

  • 4 oz. gin
  • 2 oz. pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz. simple syrup

    Instructions: Combine gin, pomegranate juice and simple syrup in a large shaker. Add ice to the shaker, and shake for at least 30 seconds, and serve. For an added stormy effect, add a small cube of dry ice to each glass.

PEACH CANDY CORN COCKTAIL from Cosmopolitan:

  • 3/4 oz. grenadine
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. whipped cream vodka
  • 2 oz. sparkling peach juice
  • whipped cream & candy corn (garnish)

    Layer ¾ ounce grenadine, 1 ounce pineapple juice, 1½ ounces whipped cream vodka, and 2 ounces Sparkling Peach juice in a glass. Top with whipped cream and candy corn pieces.

BLOOD ORANGE BLACKBERRY RUM from HeatherCristo.com

  • 1 cup chilled blood orange juice
  • 4 (12 ounce) chilled natural blackberry sodas (I used IZZE brand)
  • 1 cup rum
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 blood orange thinly sliced
  • pansies to garnish (optional)

Instructions: In a large pitcher filled with ice combine all of the ingredients. Stir gently to combine. Add several blackberries and an orange slice to each glass and pour the punch into the glasses. Garnish with a pansy if desired and serve immediately.

SASSY WITCH'S BREW from Pizzazzerie.com

  • 2 ounces Viniq Original purple
  • 2 ounces dry champagne or prosecco
  • dry ice

Instructions: Pour purple liquor into glasses.  Top with champagne.  Drop in dry ice.  For a larger serving, combine equal parts Viniq with champagne in a large punch bowl or pitcher.

BLACK MAGIC MARGARITA from Good Housekeeping

  • 1/3 c. Black sanding sugar
  • 2 c. ice
  • 4 oz. silver tequilla
  • 2 oz. triple sec
  • 1/2 c. lime juice
  • red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • green food coloring
  • lime slices, for garnish

Instructions: Rim two glasses with a lime slice and dip in the black sanding sugar.  Divide tequila, triple sec, and lime juice between two glasses and stir to combine. Add food coloring until desired black color is achieved.  Add ice and garnish with a slice of lime. Serve.
