A Busy Billings Weekend, Hopefest, Zootoberfest, Parade of Homes
What looks like the final weekend of nice, Summer weather this past weekend in Billings was busy! The 2nd annual Hopefest for the Montana Rescue Mission kicked off on Friday night at Faith Chapel on Shiloh with the Human Domino! 148 people stood vertically each holding a mattress tumbled down like dominoes.
The mattresses were then donated by Mattressland U.S.A. to the Montana Rescue Mission for their various homeless shelters in Billings. Contemporary Christian artist, Phil Wickham played for about 1,000 people at Faith Chapel Friday night. Then on Saturday Townsquare Media participated in the Hopefest Bed Race in downtown Billings. We didn’t win but a fun time was had by all!
The Home Builders Association of Billings say the number of Parade of Homes visitors over the two weekend show was larger than last years event. Hopefully you viewed all 16 homes in this years parade.
Color Me Rad 5-K race was this Saturday up at MetraPark. You start the race with clean clothes but by the end it was colorful chalk all over you. Thank you for your participation in raising money for the YMCA.
Zoo Montana pulled off their version of Octoberfest with Zootoberfest. Animals, food and games for a family atmosphere during the day with The Red Lodge Band performing. The adult portion of Zootoberfest with adult beverages and more music from Black Velvet Undercover and Jaded Ladies and other bands ran until about 11 p.m.
