Adult Children Who Still Live at Home

Today’s 1 Line Monday question was “What’s on your to-do list for next year?”  The Flakes got a great phone call from a lady who’s finally ready to put her foot down and tell her 20 year old son to move out.  She’s been enabling him too long and she’s had enough.

Mark and Paul believe that if your child is going to college or working, it’s okay for them to live at home.  But if the “kids” are just sitting on their lazy butts and sponging off their parents, it’s time to practice some tough love.

Paul then told us about an 18 year old who said “I’m gonna take a year off to enjoy myself” after graduating from high school.  Paul’s rant sounded something like this, “You’ve been enjoying yourself.  You’ve had free room and board, hot showers, clothes, transportation.  Now you’re an adult.  It’s time for you to get a job and be miserable just like the rest of us.”  Amen to that.

Shameless plug:  every one who called in for 1 Line Monday will be placed in the drawing for free tickets to The Band Perry concert in February.  The Flakes will be giving away free tickets every day this week.  PLUS, if you win those tickets, you’ll also be qualified for the grand prize, a pair of VIP Experience Passes.  The VIP Experience includes:  premium tickets to the show, admission to the private pre-show performance, a pre-show party lounge, a tour poster, VIP laminate and a gift from the merchandise booth.
