The list of entertainers for this year’s Magic City Blues Festival is getting longer.  The headliner for the third day of the annual outdoor event has been announced.  Alison Krauss and Union Station will perform on Sunday, August 12 at the all-ages show at South Park.  They are scheduled to hit the stage from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30.  Two opening acts have yet to be announced.

Last week, we told you that Chris Issak is set to headline the Friday night show on August 10 on the Budweiser stage on Montana Avenue in downtown Billings.  A headliner for Saturday has not yet been announced.

Tickets for the this year’s Magic City BluesFest go on sale on May 18 at Holiday Station Stores, Rimrock Mall and by phone at 534-0400 or online at magiccityblues.com. They are $49 per day, $79 for a two-day combo or (the best deal)  $119 for all three days!

Alison Krauss is bluegrass country singer.  She released her first solo album in 1987 and joined the band Union Station in 1989. She has released 14 albums and appeared on numerous soundtracks.  Krauss is the most awarded singer and the most awarded female artist in Grammy history.  As of 2012 she has won 27 Grammy Awards and is currently tied with Quincy Jones as the second most winner of Grammy awards.

Her most recent project is a special duet appearance on Don William’s new album “And So It Goes” which will be out June 19.

Alison Krauss and Union Station are currently on tour through the end of August, including a number of shows overseas.
