Another Biker Gone in Billings [Opinion]
It's always heartbreaking to me when I hear the news of another brother being killed. It seems every summer the list grows larger and larger. As a motorcycle enthusiast, this bothers me a lot because I know how quickly a rider's life can be taken and, it most cases, it could have been totally prevented. That's just what happened over the weekend, again.
In case you didn't hear, a motorcyclist was stopped at a red light when a pickup came from behind and hit him, knocking him more that 100 yards from his bike and killing him. Reports are saying alcohol was a factor.
I have ridden in many areas across this country and it doesn't matter where you go, accidents happen. I have had many close calls that were just unnecessary.
Simply keeping an eye out for those on two wheels is huge. I have had many drivers think they were clear to pull out into a roadway, only to pull out right in front of me. Quick thinking and maneuvering was my only saving grace.
Alcohol should never be involved with motor vehicles. Take a cab or have a friend drive you home, but please don't drive or ride.
I want to ride home to my family as much as anyone else. We as riders try to look for you, will you look for us too?
