To the folks around Third Street and Clark Avenue,

Once again, I had a great time taking my kid trick-or-treating in what is, without a doubt, Billings' best Halloween neighborhood.

Before we left the house, my daughter took some time to write some thank you letters and stuff them into envelopes along with some tickets for Bacon Fest. The people whom she chose to give them to seemed a little confused, but hopefully they eventually opened them and were pleasantly surprised.

This year, she still shied away from some of the houses, particularly the ones with people in costume waiting in the front yard, but I did what any good dad would do: I made her go anyway. In each case, she came back to me with a smile on her face; proud that she had braved the nightmarish scenery.

Thanks for all of your hard work, all of the candy, and all of the memories.
