Andy West

I am originally from Los Angeles but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In between I spent 2 years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9 and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton are too damn cold I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, AZ, Palm Springs, Fresno, CA, San Luis Obispo, CA and back to Edmonton which is a great city that thanks to global warming isn’t quite as cold as it used to be but colder than I can handle. So I took a position here with Cat Country 102.9 here in Billings where the winters are much milder. In my free time I play poker, basketball and flag football. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador from 1996 who came in sixth in that years’ Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12 year-old daughter named Noel who is in Junior High and was the 5th grade champion high jumper.

I Bought This Table For $8 and Sold It For $120 On eBay

As I've mentioned on this blog I frequent Montana Rescue Mission and St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Stores. The nasty, moldy table you see above was purchased at St. Vincent De Paul across the street from Cat Country on Montana Ave for a grand total of $8

Road Construction In Billings To Go On For 6-8 More Weeks

Seems like getting anywhere this year has been a real pain in the butt. Due to loose rocks on the north rim, Zimmerman Trail, home to 3000 car trips per day, was shut down for months, Montana Ave. from about Central Avenue east was closed down to one lane for a couple of months and now construction on Grand Avenue between about 20th and 24th streets and 27th Street downtown has caused slowdowns and been restricted to single lane traffic each way for several weeks now

Thrift Store Finds Of The Week

The thrift stores in Billings are the gifts that keep on giving. In a conversation with one of the employees of St. Vincent De Paul he said what he thinks happens is when older people pass away their kids come from out of town to deal with their belongings and don't realize what the furnishings they bought in the 50's and 60's is really worth

Scheels Grand Opening Was HUGE!

I had the honor of being the emcee at the grand opening of Billings new Scheels store at Shiloh Crossing. About 2500 people were lined up hours before the store opened at 9am and I got to be the good guy who read off hundreds of raffle ticket numbers that awarded some of those waiting with free Scheels gift cards

This Villian Looks Just Like Me

I was at Montana Rescue Mission Thrift Store In The Heights this weekend when I came across this Scholastic Reader called "A to Z Mysteries: The Bald Bandit". First off... why the bandit got to be bald? Can't he be good looking like a GQ model? No, he has to be follically challenged with a scowl on his face
