Andy West

I am originally from Los Angeles but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In between I spent 2 years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9 and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton are too damn cold I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, AZ, Palm Springs, Fresno, CA, San Luis Obispo, CA and back to Edmonton which is a great city that thanks to global warming isn’t quite as cold as it used to be but colder than I can handle. So I took a position here with Cat Country 102.9 here in Billings where the winters are much milder. In my free time I play poker, basketball and flag football. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador from 1996 who came in sixth in that years’ Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12 year-old daughter named Noel who is in Junior High and was the 5th grade champion high jumper.

So I've been watching ESPN like crazy to absorb as much information as I could about college basketball before I filled out my billion dollar bracket.

My Afternoon At The Jobs Jamboree

I just wanted to say thank you to the organizers of today's Jobs Jamboree at Metra Park. They asked me to do a presentation about careers in radio. Most people aren't brave enough to hand me a microphone and say "here, talk about radio" because, as my wife can tell you, they'll have to pry that mic from my cold, dead hands

St. Patricks Parade In Downtown Billings Was Fun But Scary

I had the great honor to drive the station van through the Downtown Billings St. Patricks Day parade. It was a blast! The crowd was huge and festive and people came decked out in green. I think my favorite costumes were the little leprechaun's who were wearing the fiery red strap-on beards
