I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).
Help Billings Get a Playground for All Kids
These days I realize that Richard was not only missing out on the physical things that his paralysis excluded him from, but he was also missing the chance to get to know other kids. It seemed like that was just another thing that a kid in a wheelchair had to endure; it seemed okay. That shouldn&ap…
YouTube Banning Dangerous Challenge Videos
With some things I have the attitude "just let evolution do its job", and it will with a lot of these people, but I think youtube taking away this massive platform will discourage people who are banking on going viral and cashing in.
Here’s Why It’s a Great Time to Hit the Billings’ Thrift Stores
For some reason, I watched a show on Netflix recently called "Tidying Up" with Marie Kondo. I had never heard of Marie, and have no idea what possessed me to try watching a show about someone cleaning someone else's house; however, I did just that.
Pug Mahon’s Permanently Closing Due To Death of Owner
Sadly, the owner of Pug Mahon's, Bill MacIntyre, has passed away and Pug Mahon's will be closing its doors after Saturday's service.
An Important Tip To Get The Most Out of the Great Rockies Sportshow
The Great Rockies Sportshow is back in Billings this weekend (1/18-1/20) and I wanted to share something I learned last year. If you really want to get the most out of the show, check the schedule.
Field Goal Challenge Followup [VIDEO]
Last week I told you about a brewery in Chicago that was offering people a chance to make the 43 yard field goal that Bears kicker, Cody Parkey missed. I'm sure that from your recliner or in a video game kicking a 43 yard field goal seems easy, but apparently it's not. More than 100 peop…
Prime Rib at Pug’s Follow Up
Based on some recommendations from friends and coworkers, I decided to check out Pug Mahon's Friday night prime rib special. As I said in my last post about prime rib, flavor is somewhat of a given. Some are definitely better than others, but if you're going to offer prime rib at a Monta…
Another Great Family Life Expo
A lot of work goes into events like the Family Life Expo and I just wanted to say thanks to all of those involved in giving me some great new memories with my daughter on Saturday. I'm not sure how many more years she will want to spend Saturday afternoon with her Dad, so I'm enjoying ever…
First Visit To Well Pared
If you're looking for a healthy menu in downtown Billings, I definitely recommend checking this place out. The staff was great, the ingredients tasted fresh and the prices were more than fair. That's enough to bring me back.
Why Is Drinking Water So Hard For Me?
Every fitness conscious person, fitness guru or doctor I have discussed this with tells me to drink more water. The truth is, I don't drink much of anything unless I'm using it to wash down food. So, I decided I would make 2019 the year I stay hydrated and I'm finding it more diffic…
Can You Kick Better Than Cody? Prove It
It's not unusual for armchair athletes to mock the guys on the field, but in this case a Chicago Brewery is asking people to prove they could do better. Goose Island Brewery is building a field goal in front of their offices and giving people a chance to kick a field goal from 43 yards.
The Best Six-Figure Job in Billings
With those two things in mind, I thought I'd share something I came across today. There are definitely plenty of 100k plus jobs out there, but most of them come with a lot of stress, a poor balance of home and work life and often little time to enjoy the things in life that your big salary can…
