I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).

What Single Dads Need To Remember About Mother’s Day
I'm pretty far from a perfect dad, so I don't often dish out advice on how to be one, but there is one thing that I learned from my dad that I think will pay out in the long run. Always remember that the person you see as your ex, your child just sees as Mom.
How to Get a Free Babysitter for Mother’s Day
Kraft is doing something pretty cool for Mother's Day, offering to reimburse babysitter fees up to $100. What's the catch? Only that there is a $50,000 limit to this promotion and it's a nationwide deal..in other words, you'll have to be quick to be one of the lucky ones, but it's doable.
My New Personal Record For Losing Expensive Sunglasses
Pictured above is not the expensive pair of sunglasses I'm writing about. I didn't own those long enough to get a picture of them. Above are the cheap ones I've had for about 5 years now. My new Oakley sunglasses made it a grand total of 6 days. That's right; not even a full week of enjoyment.
What’s a “Top Fan”? on Facebook
Facebook is pretty tight lipped about the specifics, but the obvious part is that you get a Top Fan badge by acting like a Top Fan: interacting with our posts (commenting, liking and sharing)
Unsupervised Kids Ruin My Movie Experience
Of course, with unsupervised kids, your options are limited. You can shush them, but if the kids have been indoctrinated into the "adults can't do anything to me" philosophy, they don't really care.
Five Must Haves in My Next House
I say "must haves" in the title, but "Five things I'm really hoping for" might be more accurate since you can't always get what you want. However, if at all possible, these are things I'd rather not pass on:
Most of Us Have No Idea What Cinco De Mayo Is
I read that only about 10% of Americans know what the meaning behind this Mexican holiday is and I decided to put that to the test today. I asked every person who called the request line today and only one person knew the correct answer
What Happens When There’s Not Enough Meat
After what I just read, I'm thinking we could stand to have a few more ranchers in Montana. It's been suggested for many years that with the rate of population growth, traditional livestock is not a sustainable option to feed the planet. This seems pretty logical, but one of the proposed solutions is a little on the gross side.
No Measles In Montana…Yet
"If an infected person enters a room with 10 unvaccinated people, nine of them will get measles," Redfield explained.
Overnight Summer Camps for Kids in Montana
I grew up in an era with lots of Summer Camp movies. Meatballs, Ernest Goes To Camp, Camp Nowhere, Friday the 13th...almost all of those movies made me want to go to summer camp, but it just wasn't an option where I grew up.
Kentucky Derby Party This Saturday (May 4th)
Montana has plenty of horse fanatics, but almost none of them will make it to Louisville to watch the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. So, here's the next best thing: The Billings Derby Party.
National Train Day At The Depot
Last year was the inaugural celebration drawing more than 2,500 people to the Billings Depot downtown. This year, more activities are planned, some of which will have a fee, but admission is free.
