I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).

Red Bull Junkies Will Head to the Heights Next Month
I know a few people who will swear they couldn't make it through the day without an energy drink and those people will be excited about this news. As of next month, Sonic will be serving Red Bull Slushies.
5 “Old School” Things I Still Do (That You Don’t)
I have to start by pointing out this list is not comprised of "trendy hipster" things like listening to vinyl or getting a 1940's haircut. These are things that probably aren't cool by anyone's definition.
Four Family Vacations Under $5,000
Family vacations are definitely a luxury, but those lifelong memories are worth it. When I vacation with my daughter, it's just the two of us, but I decided to price some trips out based on a family of four (two adults, two kids) for the destinations below. The prices vary greatly based on the activities you do, but every trip below is possible for under $5,000.
Headwaters Country Jam Accommodations
If you're a fan of toilets, running water and beds, you might want to check out the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks. I have visited the hotel, but I have never actually stayed there, so I can't vouch for the overnight experience, but I can tell you that the lobby, the patio and the food get a thumbs up from me.
Register for Kids Bowl Free
I know we're just barely into Spring, but it's already time to start thinking about what to do with the kids when they get out of school for the Summer.
I'm a big fan of things that keep them off the couch and lie somewhere between free and cheap. Pricewise, the "Kids Bowl Free" title says it all. You'll only be out 2 bucks for shoe rental.
Bump Stock Federal Ban Kicks in Tomorrow (3/26)
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think these accessories are very popular here; however, if you have one, be warned: There are serious consequences that begin at midnight tonight.
Almost Drive In Movie Season
The kid and I enjoy going to the drive in every year and I'm excited that we're only a few weeks away from the Amusement Park Drive In opening up. According to their Facebook page, they're shooting for the first weekend of April, so we're only a couple of weeks out.
Your Kids Aren’t Grown Until Their 30’s
So, for today's parents, do you have an age in mind that you will demand your kids be on their own? I don't mean that you wouldn't give them a place to stay if they needed it or let them starve or any such other cruel thing.
Why Riding Off Into the Sunset Can Be Dangerous
The sun setting in the west isn't exactly new thing, so why am I bringing this up? Here's the point: When the sun is low and you've got westbound traffic, there's always the possibility that drivers don't have great visibility and you should keep it in mind. Even if you have the right of way at one of the uncontrolled intersections on the sidestreets, don't chance it.
How I Kicked Butts
After about a year of being smoke free, I was reading this article on pipe smoking. I have great memories of my dad smoking a pipe and the aroma that it left in the house. I decided I would go get a pipe, some tobacco and simply not inhale. In hindsight, it was a bad plan. Within a month, I was smoking cigarettes again.
Front Row For Billings Big Air Bash
Billings Big Air Bash is Saturday, April 6th, at MetraPark and you've got a chance to win front row seats for the action. All seats at this event are reserved and seating is limited. There are no "bad seats". You'll be able to take in all the action from wherever you are sitting. Of course...front row is always best, right?
Unlimited Coffee For Five Dollars a Month in Billings
One of my brothers gets a minimum of three Starbucks coffees every day of the week. Counting the tips and taxes, he's in for no less than $15 a day. In other words, he spends a car payment worth of cash on coffee every month, but there is no way in Hell he would go for the sensible cheap coffee solution. So, I acknowledge this isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for a cheaper way to get your fix, this might be it.
