Back To School Safety

Can it be? It’s back to school time already. School starts in School District 2 and many other towns tomorrow. As the back to school bell rings remember to watch for all the kids walking and playing on the sidewalks. As a parent of a 6th grader and a 4th grader this year, I am both happy and sad that school will be in session again. Parents, safekids.org has some great safety tips for both parents and kids. Here are some tips for back to school safety.

- Slow down and be especially alert in the residential neighborhoods and school zones
- Take extra time to look for kids at intersections, on medians and on curbs
- Enter and exit driveways and alleys slowly and carefully
