The Burger Dive, a popular downtown lunch spot, is getting ready to represent Billings this month at the prestigious "Burger Bash" competition in Miami.  The contest will be held during the annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival on the 21st.

Being recognized as one of the best burger joints in the country is humbling for Andi Halsten, who opened the Burger Dive with her husband Brad in 2010.  "I never imagined that we'd be getting national recognition after only 3 years in business," she said.

The Burger Dive was invited to compete after one of the event organizers was impressed during a recent visit to Billings.

With creative menu items such as the "Blackened Sabbath" Burger, the "Behemoth" and the "Tombstone", choosing which burger to prepare for the contest was difficult, according to co-owner Brad Halsten.  Ultimately, they decided to construct a brand new burger called the "Test Pattern" for the competition.  The Test Pattern will feature a blackened beef patty, goat cheese, bacon, a beer battered onion ring, garlic mayo, arugula, and a dash of sriracha.

This mouth watering creation is called the "Andi Burger" and was topped with bacon onion jam, bacon, cheddar cheese.
