Billings Has a New Wind Record!
The record wind date for Billings is January 13, 2014! That date will most likely sit in the record books for several years. The last record held from 1934, that is the year that wind speeds were documented at Billings Logan International Airport.You were literally part of this unplanned history making event last Monday.
The high wind warning for January 13th was in the forecast but not to the extent that we felt earlier this week. The record high gust in Billings was 67 miles per hour! There was an unofficial report of a gust hitting 116 miles per hour on Logan Pass near Bozeman.
There is more wind in today’s weather with an advisory for Billings and a high wind warning for I-90 and surrounding highways near and around the Big Timber and Reedpoint areas due to strong cross winds.
