High Speed Chase:

What was going to be a simple traffic stop by Laurel Police turns into a 105 mile per hour chase through Laurel that ended at a Laurel trailer park. Robert Hart Jr. was charged with felony endangerment, eluding a police officer and other offenses.

The fleeing driver went off the road near 88th Street West and Grand Avenue. The car went through a barbed wire fence to get back on the road, and the driver continued to flee while the car dragged 30 to 50 feet of barb wire.

The suspects were found hiding under the porch of a trailer in Laurel.

Billings Police Take Cover in South Billings:

Over a dozen Billings Police units were dispatched to South Billings just after 11 p.m. on Sunday night where one man was shot and taken to Billings Clinic with a leg wound caused from shots fired on the 3000 block of Eight Avenue South. Two people were taken into custody as the investigation continues.

Now Zimmerman Park is Closed:

Work will begin next week on removing some rocks and securing boulders that have come loose on Zimmerman Trail making the trail a hazard to travel.  It will be closed until mid June at least.

Word today from Dave Mumford, Billings Director of Public Works is,

two more instances happened late Sunday night and Monday afternoon, where about 4 more tons of boulders had fallen.

General Services Director, Duane Winslow said that because of the recent rock fall, Zimmerman Park itself is now closed indefinitely, including for walking and bike traffic.
