Billings Police Deserve a Pay Raise and Our Gratitude [Opinion]

The City council in Billings approved a cost-of-living raise for the Police Department.

I agree 100 percent.

However, i don't agree with it being called a cost-of-living increase. The cost of living in Billings has not increased by 3 percent. In fact, food prices are down from last year, not to mention cheaper energy prices.

If their cost of living has gone up, so has mine and everyone else who lives here. Get by like the rest of us.

But you should be paid more for putting your lives on the line everyday to keep us safe. Not many of us kiss our wives goodbye each day knowing that depending on the day, it could be the last time.

For that they deserve our thanks, gratitude and money.
