Thinkstock[/caption]We all knew the Wednesday was going to bring high wind to Billings, but the strength that hit my house was more intense than I had originally thought it would be.

My family and I were in a deep sleep when the first gust started to hit. It didn't take long before all of us were awake to what sounded like the house was caving in from the pressure. Of course my kids were scared not understanding what was going on. Once understood, we just hung on for the ride.

After checking the news, it is reported that there was indeed a 79 mile per hour gust that hit Billings overnight. I don't believe the wind got that high at my house but I am sure it was close. We live in a very structural sound house and the sound was very intense. The walls in our home shook as each gust hit. I hate to compare it to this but it reminded my wife and I of a tornado we lived through while living in Memphis, Tennessee. It takes a lot to wake me from sleep, but this wind definitely had me on my toes.

I grabbed my camera and tried to record the best video I could, but unfortunately the extreme factor was lost and I apologize for that. Some things just can't be captured by a camera and I wasn't about to go outside in my pajamas to get the best shot. Sorry.

It looks like the wind will chill out later today.
