Blake Shelton doesn't like people who slam the American military, and he doesn't care who knows it.

In a series of tweets on Monday (Jan. 19), the 'Lonely Tonight' singer voiced his support for Clint Eastwood's new movie, 'American Sniper,' which tells the story of Chris Kyle, the deadliest sniper in U.S. history. The film has stirred up controversy in some quarters, with some moviegoers claiming it glorifies war and violence.

Celebrities including comedian Seth Rogen and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore have also decried elements of the film, with Rogen saying it reminded him of the false Nazi propaganda film in 'Inglourious Basterds,' and Moore calling snipers "cowards."

Shelton was having none of that, as he made clear:

Craig Morgan also took exception to Rogen's remarks, responding in a long Facebook post that said in part, "I’m sick and tired of people like you running your mouth when you have no idea what it takes for this country to maintain our freedoms. If you and anyone like you don’t like it, leave."

'American Sniper' is nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
