Blake Shelton returns to his small-town roots in the video for his new single, 'Bringing Back the Sunshine' -- literally.

The superstar visited his hometown of Ada, Okla. for the new video, taking fans on a journey through some of the more picturesque scenes of the town where he spent his formative years, including the water tower that also appears on the front cover of his new album.

Shelton doesn't actually appear in the clip, which is filmed mostly through the windshield of a car as it moves through town. The effect is like tagging along with Shelton while he takes a sentimental trip back home.

“The whole album is searching for parts of me that I think have … not gotten lost along the way, but stuff that I haven’t addressed in my music as much as I used to, whether it’s drinking songs, heartbreak songs or songs about how people treat you,” he says. “Things like that.”

Shelton released the new project on Tuesday (Sept. 30). It is available for download at iTunes.
