Just when we thought 2015 couldn't be more tightly packed with big-time blockbusters, Universal Studios goes and sets the next 'Bourne' movie for release that August.

With 'Fast and Furious' director Justin Lin at the helm and Jeremy Renner returning as Aaron Cross, the fifth 'Bourne' film will be released on August 14, 2015. The Michael Fassbender-led 'Assassin's Creed' will also hit theaters that month, though some other titles getting 2015 releases are 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' the World of Warcraft movie, 'Jurassic World,' 'Mission: Impossible 5,' the 'Fantastic Four' reboot and 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' (also starring Renner).

So far, 'Bourne 5' has yet to receive an official title, and the rumored team-up of Renner with original franchise star Matt Damon has been debunked. Lin takes over directing duties from Tony Gilroy after pumping out Universal's successful 'Fast and Furious 6,' and will hopefully have the same outcome with 'Bourne.'

Anthony Peckham is writing the script for the sequel to 'The Bourne Legacy,' which saw the focus shift from Matt Damon's Jason Bourne to Renner's Cross, another genetically engineered assassin who finds himself on the run after Bourne's actions expose his secret division. Anthony Peckham is writing the script based off the world created by author Robert Ludlum.
