To help Montanans ease the burden of dental care costs, Brewer Dental's annual 'Dentistry From The Heart' event will be held this Saturday (2/16) 6am to 2pm at their west end location, 2900 Central Avenue.

Patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis with one free extraction, filling or cleaning offered to anyone over 18 years old. Children can receive a free screening and cleaning. A heated tent will be available for guests to wait for services so dress appropriately for the weather.

In a 2017 DPHHS report on the oral health of Montanans, the following statistics were reported:

▪ Sixty-five percent of Montana children experienced dental decay by the time they reach 3rd grade in 2014 and nearly one in four had untreated decay during 2014.
▪ One in six elderly (17%) adults (age +65 years) reported they had lost all natural teeth to decay or gum disease in 2014.
▪ Over 40% of dental care expenditures were paid out-of-pocket, compared to 17% of out-of-pocket total healthcare expenditures.

Over 13 years Dentistry From The Heart has given $1.4 million dollars in free dental care. Brewer Dental has a goal to serve 450 patients for a total of $100k in free services on Saturday.
