Carrie Underwood‘s ‘The Sound of Music Live!’ was impressive in ratings, with 18.5 million viewers tuning in to catch the live theatrical broadcast last week. The show also caught the eye of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ which then spoofed it in a pretty hilarious reenactment, which included the return of one of the show’s most beloved characters.

SNL’s Taran Killiam played Captain von Trapp, while Kate McKinnon stepped up to portray Underwood’s character, Maria von Trapp. But the real star of the show was the one and only Kristen Wigg, who reprised her role as Dooneese, the strange, tiny-handed, huge foreheaded character, acting as one of the von Trapp children.

‘SNL’ acted out a condensed version of the three-hour ‘Sound of Music’ show, paying special attention to ‘Do-Re-Mi,’ which was one of Underwood’s most shining vocal moments. When the song came to the “Re” part, she interrupted, croaking out, “The guy in the barn that tries to lay on me,” and “I sewed a chicken to a wall” during the “so” part. Fred Armisen, another SNL vet, also joined the spoof.

Although the focus of the spoof was not on making fun of Underwood and her co-star Stephen Moyer, the country singer has obviously grown tired of the negative criticism that’s been coming in following the Dec. 5 broadcast. Underwood is beyond proud of the cast’s performance, and over the weekend, she tweeted:
