Carrie Underwood has always been a very generous person and used her celebrity to help a multitude of causes. She has been an outspoken supporter of P.E.T.A. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and the American Humane Society. “Everybody has the power to do something, to be a contributing force,” she says,  “and I would rather people look back on my life and say, ‘She made the world a  better place.’ We can all do things like that, and I believe that when  opportunities arise for you to do good, you should do good.”

Now she is really putting her money where her mouth is... she has announced she is donating $1 million in proceeds from her Blown Away Tour to the Red Cross for relief efforts. A native Oklahoman Underwood said "I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness, with the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornados."

Other stars contributing to the tornado victims include Toby Keith and Blake Shelton (who held a benefit concert last night on NBC, the first hour of which was simulcast on Cat Country 102.9).
