November 2, 2011 This morning, the Breakfast Flakes discussed a recent report that said STDs and other health problems were becoming a concern at the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York. This began a discussion on the contradictions surrounding the Occupy Wall Street movement, and Paul's simple "fire hose" solution to get the protesters to leave.

October 18, 2011 According to the Kansas City Star, the federal government is backing away from tighter air-quality regulations that created controversy over “farm dust.” Our Breakfast Flakes will be happy to see the controversy blow over.
For a guy who’s on the road as much as Dierks Bentley, naming a song ‘Home‘ could be seen as a sort of wistfully ironic joke. But in the case of Bentley’s latest single, currently hovering outside the Top 40 at country radio, the title ‘Home’ has more than one meaning.
“I think that title of that song is special to me because I’m coming home to country music,” he told CMT during a recent interview. “I’m on the road all the time, so everywhere we go has a hometown feel.”
September 19, 2011 According to the Associated Press, The United Auto Workers union won $5,000 signing bonuses, as well as the possibility of sweeter profit-sharing checks as part of a new four-year contract with General Motors Co.. GM was the first of the "Detroit Three" to reach an agreement with the UAW, with Chrysler likely to be next, followed by Ford, where little progress has been made in negotiations so far.
For his upcoming ‘Duets II’ project, Tony Bennett made sure to line up plenty of stars from the rock and pop world, including John Mayer, Lady Gaga, and Amy Winehouse — but he invited a few friends from the country charts, too.
The full-length release won’t be available until September 20, but in the meantime, you can hear Bennett share a mic with one of those country stars — Carrie Underwood — for a suitably sultry version of the pop standard ‘It Had to Be You.’

Nelson covered the band’s hit song ‘The Scientist’ recently, contributing his version to the soundtrack of a short film entitled ‘Back to the Start.’
