With kickoff to the "Big Game" only 5 days away I've been thinking about what to serve at my Super Bowl party. While surfing the web I ran across this beauty... it's called a "Snackadium"! Obviously whoever erected this masterpiece is the Frank Lloyd Wright of junk food
Remember when a cupcake was when you took cake batter and poured it into those little paper cups? Of all the specialty foods I think I might like high end specialty cupcakes nearly as much as microbrews
As you may be aware, I'm new to Billings. I accepted a position here as the afternoon host on Cat Country 102.9. I love Montana and actually spent a few years in Great Falls growing up. I'm happy to be back in Montana but one of the things I miss about California is the Meyer lemon tree in my backyard
The Center For The Science In The Public Interest has published their Xtreme Eating 2013 list of "Calorie Bombs" that they say are "promoting obesity, diabetes and heart disease". Why does everything that tastes sooooo good have to be bad for you
This is the GoPlate. Now you can mingle at a party and not have to set your beer or your sandwich/snacks down. It's the best thing since the bacon alarm clock which, if you never heard of it, starts cooking bacon about 5 minutes before you have to get up so you wake up to the smell of bacon
If you haven't checked out Seize The Deal lately there's a great deal on Pita Pit. Spend $3.50 and get $5 worth of food. I usually get the pita's filled with grilled chicken, grilled onions and mushrooms, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and teriyaki sauce
Several pounds of hot and sweaty, sweet and meaty sausage and jerky can be yours... if the price is right! Actually it is. You can buy a mound of tasty meat sticks and jerky for your Big Game party carnivores at HALF PRICE at Seizethedeal
I went to a Superstore that ends in "art" at 24th and King last night with the intention of "picking up a few things". But I found so many great deals that by the time I was done I had spent $73.50! I barely have enough room in the mini-fridge in my loft apartment for all the cold stuff
With my family still yet to move to Billings I'm left to fend for myself. I actually do about half the cooking for our family but cooking for one is weird and I haven't had to do it since the early 90's
I realize I may be biased but downtown Billings culinary options would make a 5 year-old proud. Burgers, pizza, steak, sandwiches etc. We need some Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Korean and Mongolian. I'd kill for a bowl of Udon right now!
Part of my indoctrination to my new hometown of Billings is the smell of the processing of sugar beets. Some people don't like the smell but to me it has the aroma of roasted corn. Roasted corn smells sweet and so do all the jobs sugar beets add to our economy!
