Comic-Con 2013: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Panel Says Season 2 Turns to Family

Granted, we haven’t often made a point to follow The CW’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ adaptation, but were pleasantly surprised to see the network grant another season to the show for the fall. So, with series stars Jay Ryan and Kristen Kreuk appearing at Comic-Con 2013 and the producers in tow, what can fans of The CW’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ expect going forward into season 2?

Though they had no new footage to show off — apart from a gag reel from the October 1 DVD release — they did have plenty of new tidbits for the season. For starters, three months will have passed since we saw Vincent captured by the enigmatic Muirfield, the history of which will be explored across the second seasons.

Ryan teased that the beastly form would see some evolution and potentially new abilities, along with an exploration of his family. Producers teased that ‘Beauty and the Beast’ S2 would feature a “who am I?” kind of theme, with the family exploration also introducing Cat (Kreuk) to the secret of her father at some point. Even J.T. will come to explore his identity and role as a partner, and friend! Identity all around!

We’ll bring you the latest on S2 of the surprise CW hit, but in the meantime, tell us what you want to see from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 in the comments!
