Ticketmaster has delayed the refund process for Garth Brooks' five Ireland shows, giving lots of fans hope that something could change and the country singer will still perform as planned.

The ticketing company was set to begin refunding Irish Brooks fans their money Monday (July 14), but have pushed that return date to Thursday (July 17). The 400,000 fans who were to attend the five canceled shows are hoping this means something good.

"Ticketmaster understands that negotiations to try and find a resolution to the Garth Brooks concerts situation are still ongoing," the Ireland Ticketmaster website reads. "As a result, Ticketmaster will be delaying commencement of the refunds process until Thursday, July 17. We would ask customers/fans to continue to be patient and to hold onto their tickets for now."

The five concerts at Dublin's Croke Park were called off due to restrictions about the number of shows allowed to take place at the venue, in addition to angry neighbors. Negotiations weren't met, so Brooks was asked to pick just two of the dates on which to perform. He refused, and all five planned concerts were all canceled. But big Brooks fans in Dublin have taken a stand and protested, asking the city council to reconsider their decision, according to the Irish Mirror.

The stage for the big comeback show is already on its way to Ireland. Brooks even wrote a personal letter to promoter Peter Aiken, explaining "Our guys are still en route and if there is any chance that the five planned concerts can be salvaged and nobody is being let down then we can proceed as planned until the refunds begin."

During a press conference to announce his comeback plans last week, the legendary country singer placed the blame for the Dublin fiasco on government officials, saying succinctly, “The problem isn’t here."
