Crosswalk light

iving along on Sunday afternoon, heading toward downtown Billings on Sixth Avenue North. And I saw it. I hadn't noticed it before. And, I'm fairly certain that it wasn't erected that morning. But, nonetheless, there it was.

A new light for a crosswalk. Now, I recall that when the new federal building was built on Fourth Avenue North a couple of years ago, they put up a light for workers to cross the very busy street. I can't remember the exact dollar amount anymore. But, I know that it cost taxpayers more than $300,000.

For a light.

So, now I can't help but wonder what this new light cost. And, why do we need a light to get folks over to North Park? Just another frustration for taxpayers.

Then we can't ever seem to come up with enough money for schools, policemen and firemen. I wish we had better priorities with our tax dollars.
