Crowne Plaza, Billings Flood Clean-up
On February 6th at about 6:30 p.m. a call came into emergency dispatch of frozen pipes that burst at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Billings!Pipes burst from the 23rd floor of the Crowne Plaza on Thursday night. The stream of water traveled from the top floor to the 3rd floor ball room area and flooded a good part of the that floor. The 23rd floor is the work home of the Billings Morning News studio and Townsquare Media. There was no damage to our radio station.
There were many reports during last weeks sub zero temperatures of frozen and blown pipes in residential homes as well as plenty of commercial businesses. Billings has experienced four of these sub zero events this winter, most lasting more than four days in a row.
I took a tour on Saturday, February 8th of the damage and clean-up efforts at the Crowne Plaza and the crews working the damaged area get an A+ for the work that has been going on since the night of February 6th. For the most part business has not been hampered because of the flood. Events are going on as scheduled.
