    Medications

First and foremost always make sure you are well stocked with any prescription medicine that you take. Ensure that all of your medication is in their original and labeled packaging. This helps avoid confiscation at the border.

Mexico is infamous for their water quality. So make sure you pack diarrhea medicine such as Imodium. You can also pack iodine tablets to help purify any water you might think is suspect.

    Books

Vacationing on the beaches of Mexico is a great opportunity to catch up with some of your favorite books or the latest best seller. We also recommend bringing more than one. It gives you some nice variety and you'd be surprised how quickly you can get through a book when you don't have any distractions or responsibilities.

    Footwear

It's Mexico, you're going to be on the beach, and you're on vacation. Leave the expensive evening wear at home and pack these three essential items:

Flip-flops: a cheap and comfortable pair of shoes will be the most versatile shoes you can bring. Between walking on the beach, shower shoes, and those late night trips to the bathroom you're going to get a lot of mileage out of these.

Sandals: If you'd like to class things up a little bit for the evening slip on your favorite pair of sandals. Again, don't bother bringing anything too fancy. You're on vacation it's time to relax, not worry about what shoes you're wearing to dinner.

Walking Shoes: a good pair of comfortable walking shoes will be important if you plan on any sight-seeing or shopping excursions into town.

    Electronics

Luckily for all of us electronic loving folks Mexico uses the exact same outlets and wattage that we use here in the States. So that means no special power converters needed. Just bring your usual cables for your phones and tablets!
