As we start a new school year it’s time for people to figure out what kids can and can’t wear to school.  I remember as a kid going to the store getting new school clothes that would fit.  Now, kids don’t have to, their everyday wardrobe is just fine at schools.

 

I think that’s where we lose a great opportunity to establish rules of discipline.  I've heard all the reasons against it, cost, too competitive, blah, blah, blah.  Making rules about what they have to wear would eliminate that.

 

But instead we tell them what they can’t wear.  The dress codes are challenged each year by students and parents alike.  A little structure in their lives won’t kill them, and they may actually like it....
