This year will most definitely be one that Eric Church remembers for the rest of his life. In January, the singer scored his very first No. 1 single with ‘Drink in My Hand,’ and now he has returned to the top with his current hit, ‘Springsteen.’ The tune sits at No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts this week, making it the singer’s second consecutive chart-topping song.

‘Springsteen’ is the third release from Church’s gold-selling album, ‘Chief.’ The tune was penned by Ryan Tyndell, Church and his bandmate Jeff Hyde, who is also a co-writer on the country rebel’s critically acclaimed hit ‘Smoke a Little Smoke.’

“I love how powerful music is, and this is a song directly about that,” Church told Taste of Country soon after he released ‘Springsteen.’ “I’m a big Springsteen fan. I just paid homage to him and what his music meant to me. Of all the songs on the record … this is the one when we put the record out, I was the most excited about ‘Springsteen.’”

Other major accolades Church has experienced in recent months include his arena-headlining Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour — which has sold over 450,000 tickets so far — and ‘Springsteen’ being certified platinum for digital downloads exceeding one million copies sold.

Also working its way up the charts in the Top 5 this week are songs from Luke Bryan (‘Drunk on You’), Brantley Gilbert (‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do’) and Eli Young Band (‘Even If it Breaks Your Heart’).
