Billings VITA – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Puzzled by tax law or which credits and deductions to take? Need assistance with your tax returns? Beginning Wednesday, January 27th, the Billings VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Coalition will offer FREE income-tax preparation services. Volunteers will be able to help most individuals who made $54,000 or less in 2015 and who need help preparing and filing tax returns.
The Billings VITA Coalition will have more than 60 IRS certified volunteers preparing federal and state tax returns at three locations in our area. In 2015, the Billings VITA Coalition prepared more than 2,000 income tax returns. VITA’s goal this tax season is to help even more individuals and families achieve greater financial stability. VITA volunteers receive IRS training, and prepare and electronically file income tax returns for low to moderate income, elderly, and disabled taxpayers, free of charge.
