Firefighters have responded to a fire just before 6:00 a.m. in a three-story brick apartment building at 23 Yellowstone Avenue. The fire was first reported by police officers who were in the area on an unrelated incident. Battalion Chief Ed Regal told reports on the scene that the fire appeared to have started in the attic and extended to the third floor of the Okerman Apartments.

As of 09:15 am this morning, the majority of the fire appeared to be extinguished. Fire crews were still working to locate any possible hot spots within the building. No injuries or fatalities have been reported but work continues to find and account for all occupants.
