With Bacon Fest just a month away, November 14th, I thought I'd do some digging around the net for some easy bacon desserts to whet your appetite. I'll give you a rundown of the ingredients here and if you think they will add up to deliciousness, you can click the link to get the photos and full recipes.

  1. Maple Bacon Crack
This stuff is about as easy as it gets and, as the name implies, could be dangerously addictive. All you need for this one is:

    • 1 lb of Bacon
    • 1 can of Crescent Rolls
    • 1/2 Cup of Maple Syurp
    • 3/4 Cup of Brown Sugar

To get the full recipe and photos of the finished product, click here.

  2. Beer And Bacon Pecan Bars
Beer and bacon in a dessert. I'm not sure who came up with that, but they should get some sort of award. Once again, this one requires a bit of skills in the kitchen, but even if you mess up it will probably still taste delicious.

    • Butter
    • Flour
    • Brown Sugar
    • Salt
    • Water
    • Stout Beer
    • Chopped Pecans
    • Light Corn Syrup
    • Heavy Cream
    • Eggs
    • and of course Bacon!

Get the step by step instructions and some mouth watering photos by clicking here

  3. Bacon Cinnamon Rolls
I promised you some simple ones, so here's one that anybody who can turn on an oven can do. You only need two things for this one:

    • 1 Can of Cinnamon Rolls (5 Count)
    • 5 Bacon Strips

You probably see where this is going. It's just a matter of rolling up a strip of bacon inside each spiral of gooey cinnamon roll goodness. If you need more explicit instruction and some pictures, you can get both by clicking here.

  4. Bacon Pancake Dippers
Another easy idea here. Whip up your favorite pancake batter and use it to coat individual, cooked slices of bacon. When they come off the griddle, they're ready for dipping into the syrup of your choice. I know "pancake batter" isn't an technically an ingredient, but the basics for this one are:

    • Bacon
    • Pancake Batter (Bisquick, etc)
    • Syurp

Check out the complete how-to for this one right here.

  5. Bacon Jam
Why not finish up with something that you can spread on almost anything: Bacon Jam. This stuff is delicious and super easy to make. Since you can start with apricot jam that's already prepared, there's not a whole not of skill involved. All you need is the ability to heat three things in a pot:

    • Bacon
    • Apricot Jam
    • Vinegar

Once you make this stuff you'll be spreading it on everything from crackers to peanut butter sandwiches. Click here for a fancier recipe that shows off Bacon Jam in all its glory.

I'm not sure where this stuff was when I was a kid, but I'm glad it's here now. Of course, there will be no shortage of bacon desserts at this year's Bacon Fest. We've got some of Montana's best culinary minds serving up their most creative bacon dishes for you to eat.

Bacon Fest happens on November 14th at the Rimrock Auto Arena. Get your tickets at any Shipton's location and come pig out with us!
