Golf Rule Changes

Most of these won't affect us weekend hacks, but for 2019 the USGA is changing some rules and I wanted to mention a couple of them.

"Dropping Procedure". Under the new rule, when you drop a ball, you'll do it from knee height instead of the old shoulder height.

New for next year, no more penalty for "Double Hits'. Glad they changed this one.

Also, no penalty for hitting the flag with your putt. That one's overdue.

I only mentioned the rules that will benefit my game.

And still no word on the MHSA changing their rule to allow parents to go watch their kids golf sanctioned high school tournaments.
