Yellowstone National Park Closes Due to Federal Government Shutdown
Visitors staying at the park now, were notified that they had 48 hours to vacate the park. Yellowstone National Park has shutdown.
As of 12:01 Tuesday morning, October 1st our government has changed what we do for leisure time activity when it comes to our national parks. With the shutdown official now visitors to our national park in our back yard, Yellowstone National Park is turning away world visitors.
Families from all over the world plan vacations to Yellowstone years in advance. Tourists from Asia and Australia were not able to enter the park this morning. The month of October was to bring in about 140,000 people, this week alone the projections at Yellowstone alone was set at about 55,000. A major boon to the economy is now left in the dust!
Another point to consider is that nearly 700 Yellowstone employees could be laid off before the park normally closes for the season! All national parks remained closed due to the government shutdown.
