Three year olds should NEVER have access to guns! Let’s face it folks - there is a need for some type of gun control. And we are in favor of keeping guns out of the hands of three year olds. Especially after what happened this weekend in Yellowstone National Park.

An investigation is underway involving the shooting death of a 3-year-old Idaho girl in a campground. Rangers responded to a call on Saturday at the Grant Village Campground.

The report we read this morning said that park rangers responded to a call Saturday morning from a woman at the Grant Village Campground. She told park rangers that her daughter had shot herself with a handgun.

Park spokesman Al Nash says park rangers and special park agents are conducting the investigation through the week.

This is a sad one.

And before you ask, yes it is legal to possess firearms in the park. There is a federal law that went into effect Feb. 22, 2010 that allows visitors to possess firearms in the park. But nowhere in that law does it say that a child that young should have access to a gun. It’s all about being a responsible gun owner.
