About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That’s one in every four deaths, making it the leading cause of death for both men and women.

This disease transcends all socioeconomic classes and does not discriminate based on race, religion, age or gender.

Heart disease can affect anyone, which is why St. Vincent Healthcare is hosting the Heart-to-Heart Luncheon on Wednesday, February 24. The purpose of the free luncheon is to increase awareness and educate the community about the risk factors of heart disease.

It is being held in conjunction with American Heart Month.
