How I’ve Lost 13.5 Pounds and 21.5 Inches In 11 Weeks
Just a disclaimer…. There are no magic crack pills, weird foods or surgeries that were had. This has all been happening with exercise and REAL food.
There are so many yoyo diets out there that promise you’ll lose 10 pounds in a week or 30 pounds in six weeks. You know the ones with pre-made foods, weird supplements and all without any exercise. The problem with diets like theses…. you usually end up gaining all the weight back and a lot of times MORE than what you started with. You know how I know? I’ve tried them… And it wasn’t pretty.
I’d lose the weight but then have no plan for after and gain it all back. Up and down and up and down. The most discouraging thing in the world was to watch that scale creep back up and not know how to stop it. Or worse… I’d stay on a diet and then I’d plateau and stay the same with no progress.
I’m an average person. Meaning I know hardly anything about actual nutrition, workouts for my body or the science behind a perfectly put together meal with the correct amount of carbs, fruits, veggies, etc. All I know is I was tired of buying bigger pants, not wearing tank tops because I hated my arms and swimming suits? Yah… no.
So, I’m sure you are finally wondering ‘okayyyyy so how did you lose weight then?’
Three words: Balanced Diet Billings
I went in and sat down with Toni and poured out my heart. How I’d been in shape my whole life but after college just spiraled down hill. How I didn’t feel confident in my own body. How I feared taking pictures. How I felt guilty that I couldn’t figure out how to get control of my eating. HOT MESS EXPRESS, y’all. But, she listened. And she heard things I wasn’t even saying. Without words I was telling her that I wanted to get in shape, drop the pounds, tone up, get healthy, keep it off and just feel GOOD.
Best part: she cared. She genuinely felt my pain and worry and sprung into a customized action plan. Not a plan that everyone else was doing but a plan specifically FOR ME. My weight. My goals. My body. My lifestyle. My needs. And what I loved even more is that we planned to get to the goal in 18 weeks. Yup. No quick fixes. 18 long weeks of re-teaching my body how to eat well. This longer approach may seem hard to commit to but when you actually KEEP the weight off, you’ll be glad. Quick weight loss and fad dieting that promises lots of weight loss in a short amount of time is a disaster waiting to happen. Your body takes time to get used to its new weight so you have to do it in smaller portions (for me it’s about 1.5 pounds a week).
Plus… if you hate meal planning or figuring out what to eat in the week you are going to LOVE Balanced Diet Billings. These meals mixed with going to the gym that they have at Balanced Diet about three times a week has led to a very confident me and I’m so so passionate about it that I told Toni that I have to be talking about this here on KISS because women NEED TO KNOW! If I can do it – you can sure as heck can do it!
I still have until October 19 to get to my goal but so far I’m on track and I’m so excited to take that ‘after’ photo!
I want you to know that you don’t have to do this alone. The coaches and nutrition staff are there to keep you committed and motivated even when you aren’t! And, you shouldn’t have to do this alone. Doing the right thing for your body can be hard but I promise the benefits are beyond looking great. Feeling good, sleeping well and having confidence are priceless!
