Safe to say, no one becomes a teacher so that they can become super rich. Educating the future generations is not a thankless job by any means, we are indebted to the people who work tirelessly to ensure that no child is left behind. Still, we know that financial compensation is a far cry from what they are truly worth. 

A recent study shares some insight on how well each state in America takes care of their teachers and before you assume that Montana is also the Last Best Place for teachers, think again..

Many factors were taken into consideration when ranking the states, including starting salaries and "insight from experts and a detailed methodology" which can be found here.

The best state for teachers? Wyoming, topping the ranks for opportunity & competition along with proper academics and work environments.

The worst? North Carolina.

Montana falls somewhere in between at #23 on the chart found here.
