It has been more than two decades since many of Billings` citizens took their national attention-getting stance against hate and discrimination in our community.

The "Not In Our Town" event sparked a nationwide movement to encourage other Americans to show their support for diversity, tolerance and acceptance of all different types of cultures.

If you were one of the many who proudly displayed a menorah in your window more than 20 years ago, you'll be happy to know that the movement did not die. Your efforts to say "enough is enough" actually meant something and still carry on to this day.

The Not In Our Town organization will be taking an "I Am Billings" photo at ZooMontana, Sunday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. NIOT has partnered with Westpark Village Senior Living as well as other organizations to provide free entrance from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
