As some of you may know, I am a huge animal lover. Dogs, cats, they are all very much part of the family and I consider them like kids. They deserve a chance. They deserve compassion and they deserve a good home to grow and be loved in.

You have probably seen the commercials, too. Celebrities coming on the television pleading for our donation to help abused and neglected animals right in our own town.

I have fostered dogs for our local humane societies and had every single one of them adopted out to good loving homes. It's a good feeling when that dog realizes it is going to it's "furever" home and I love that feeling.

I will be honest and say that I have never donated to one of these organizations on television, though, and now I am starting to wonder if that was a good thing.

Recently I have seen multiple reports  like this one from Guns.Com that donating to those particular organizations is a bad thing. They claim the less than 1 percent of the money donated actually arrives to our local shelters like Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

I am sure those commercials have garnered millions of dollars and if it's true that less than 1 percent gets to our shelter, then I say that is an outrage.

What's even more of an outrage is where this video claims the money is going.
