If Weather Forecasters Ran the World

Here's a disturbing thought:  what if your Doctor diagnosed illnesses the same way meteorologists predict the weather?  There's a 60 percent chance we'll insert a stint into your arteries and recovery is possible in the afternoon.

Simply put, meteorology is the only industry where so called professionals are allowed to guess what the answers are.  If you go to the mechanic, he won't say that your brake fluid is "partly empty".  When you go to a restaurant, the waiter doesn't say that your steak will be somewhere between 10 to 16 ounces.

Of course, you can't choose the weather.  However, it would sure be nice if the forecasters could narrow it down.  They have the doppler radar and hi tech computer satellite technology to see what's coming.  If only they had the courage to tell us if it's going to snow, when it's gonna start and how much we're gonna get.  It's not rocket science.
