It wasn't much more than a few years ago that I felt the Facebook gaming craze roar.

From Farmville to Mafia Wars, I was hooked and it took a major portion of my time. That was a problem for my household.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I had specific times I had to log on and harvest my crops and then replant them. Between those times, I had my mortal enemies that I had to fight and/or kill.

It was an ongoing cycle. I didn't realize at the time how much control of my life I was losing. I had my wife and two little boys at home and they were feeling majorly neglected.

If I wasn't working, I was on that darn computer playing my Facebook games. I had no time and no energy for anything or anyone else.

It almost cost me my marriage and I am not kidding in the slightest about that.

One day she started packing her things -- and the children's -- and that is when I noticed I had gone way too far. I managed to convince her to say and I stopped gaming on the spot.

I am proud to say that as I sit in Billings this very moment, I have never gone back and I have been game free for years.

Now the worst thing I hate is when I get a game request.

What about you? Has gaming ever taken control of your life?
