It's been well publicized that the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, has put up a $1 Billion prize for a perfect Men's NCAA hoops tournament bracket through a partnership with Quicken Loans. So I've been watching ESPN like crazy to absorb as much information as I could about college basketball before I filled out my billion dollar bracket.

I correctly predicted Harvard's upset over the Cincinnati Bearcats and picked every other game played in the first round correctly so far... except for the damn #11 seeded Dayton Flyers who upset 6th seeded Ohio State. How does a team from the never heard of them conference beat a powerhouse like the Buckeye's anyway? By one stinking point. The NCAA tournament, like golf, is a cruel mistress but it's still up there with the Super Bowl as one of the most exciting sporting events in the world... particularly the 1st round where upsets can be rampant and if you can get through Day 1 unscathed, vision of stacks of cash run through your head.

Oh well, if no one gets a perfect bracket, the next 20 "closest to perfect" brackets still win $100,000 and I still have some upsets picked. Go Tennessee, Nebraska, GWU and Stephen F. Austin!
