After what has undeniably been a rough start to a new year, things seem to be turning a new leaf for Jake Owen. Owen, who broke his collarbone in a snowboarding accident on Friday, Jan. 13 and was forced into surgery, resulting in the cancellation of several shows, has returned to the road — and to his adoring fans — who were even more excited than ever to see his smiling face.

Owen’s first night back was on Friday, Feb. 3, where he walked out to a nearly sold-out crowd at Cowboys in Dallas, Texas, followed by a stop in Norman, Okla. on Saturday to perform for a sold-out crowd at the Riverwind Casino. “I’m thrilled to be back out on the road,” Owen said following the two shows. “And to have a sold-out shows our first weekend back is such an awesome feeling.”

Owen admits he was going quite stir-crazy being cooped up at home in Nashville while recovering from his surgery in January. “I’m not very good at sitting around the house taking it easy,” says the singer. “I had eight screws and a metal plate put in to repair my collarbone, so I’ve had to spend a lot of time at doctor’s appointments and physical therapy sessions over the past few weeks. Getting back out on stage was the best therapy I’ve had.”

But being back out on the road isn’t the only thing that has Owen pumped this week. He just found out that he will make his debut on the E! nighttime show ‘Chelsea Lately’ in March. “I can’t wait to meet Chelsea,” Owen asserted. “She’s fearless.”

Owen’s appearance on ‘Chelsea Lately’ is set to air on Thursday, March 1 at 11:00PM ET.
